I just purchased a 2000 SE Wagon w/ 38k miles on it. I love this car! It's my first saab, but I work with a guy who is a saab nut and he got me interested. I did get it with the certification, which added $1500 to the sticker. They were asking $24k for the car and I bought it for $19k with the certification. I brought it home and changed the oil, drained the transmission fluid twice on it (you only get half out each time) and it runs great. I had a problem with the passenger side rear strut and I took it back to saab and they took the car in, gave me a loaner, and I picked it up 4 hours later without paying a cent.

The one thing about the certification is that it is good for 100,000 miles or 6 years from the inception date. That means you get 6 years from when the original warranty went active. It sounds like you drive around 15k miles per year, so you may not hit 100k miles before 6 years on a 2000. I have until February of 2006, but I'll probably hit 100k miles right around then. Something to consider.

My average mpg is in the low 20's (21-22). I can get 24-25 on a highway trip. The 4-cylinder get's around 30.

The back of the car is huge. I fit a 55lb and a 90lb lab in the back with room for a third.
