So the answer is no. Regardless of the incentives, the deal you negotiate or in other words whatever the capitalized cost is, it has no affect on the residual. The residual percentage for a given term and mileage is looked up on a chart and the calculated as a percentage of the orignal MSRP or window sticker price.
If the payment remains competitive, which it does with Saabs vs the competition, than a lower residual is a plus as it allows you to purchase or you control the car for a lower figure at the end. All things being the same, a higher residual results in less depreciation and a lower payment, but if a manufactures is willing to subvent the lease with incentives and low rates to make a competitive payment, like Saab is, then the fact that the residual is lower is a plus (not a negative) for the lessee.
