In the '03 V6 3.0t, in addition to tranny controls and throttle sensitivity, does the "S" mode also increase turbo boost (before wastegate dumping) or timing advance? It seems to me I get more WOT giddy-up in "S" than in normal modes, which can't be explained through quicker throttle response alone.
Note, I like the default normal setting for around town and stop-/slow-and-go commute driving, as it allows me to accellerate smoother and with less surging. HOwever, at normal freeway speeds (especially in thicker traffic), the "S" mode generates such a more enjoyable driving experience, with incredible throttle response (even on my child-of-a-lesser-Saab V6 engine). I guess I use the "S" button and the "M" mode (with paddle shifters) as a surrogate for the stick shift I didn't have a hall pass to get...
