It's a 4-cylinder 9-5. Oil and filter were changed regularly - between 4000-6000 miles, but for the most part was done by an independent Saab mechanic, or at Firestone (and I did provide the records to Saab - except that the couple changes done by the independent mechanic don't have invoices).
Just heard back from the dealer here - and get this - GMPP says that they'd be willing to sell us an extended warranty on the car now - but effective now not retroactive to when we requested (and paid for) it. I'm not ready to give up yet though. If they'll extend it now, then they should honor the request we made last April. Otherwise, I guess we'll have to go into legal mode, since my verbal contact with both Saab Canada and Saab USA has only resulted in a peace offering of $750 US (from Saab Canada) or an offer of an extended warranty on the purchase of another used Saab of under 50,000 miles from Saab.
It all really leaves a bad taste in my mouth!
