Hi,
I have some more general questions for my "new" certified pre-owned 2000 Saab 9-5. As always, any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
1) The change holder that I have in the car (right behind the window controls) is really really lame. Is there another one, or an upgrade to that one? It seems like the most I can hold in there is a few quarters and thats it. In my old 95 900S, It could hold a lot more quarters, dimes and nickels.
2) I've noticed that the seat heat control for the driver's side doesn't light up at night (although the passenger one does) so its one of the things I have written down to have the dealership fix. Would somebody mind giving me a list of what should light up at night so I know...or if no one wants to do that, can you tell me if the following light up at night in your car:
- winter mod button
- sport mode button
- radio controls on steering wheel
3) When I hit the Night Panel Button, everything seems to work as it should, except:
a) all the buttons that are lit up don't go dark - is this by design?
b) the odometer stays lit up to around 90 mph, but beyond that goes dark - is this by design, or something broken?
4) Where can I get a copy of the Saab Certified Pre-Owned Warranty so that I know what's covered and what isn't (and if necessary, the original Limited Warranty since I remember hearing that portions of the Certified Warranty refer back to the Original Warranty)?
5) As a Certified Pre-Owned Customer, I am now covered by Saab Roadside Assistance until the Certified Warranty expires, correct? What does Saab Roadside Assistance cover and what are the limitations?
6) Does the dealer that sold me the car take care of registering the car with Saab so that I receive safety recall notices, etc. or do I have to do that myself? Is there an email list for safety recall notices, etc. that I can subscribe to also?
7) The manual mentions an in-car safety card, but I can't find one in the car. Where can I get a copy of this card, and what is on it?
8) I'm a bit confused as to whether my Saab has any turbo capabilities or not? Its not the SE or the Aero, but I seem to recall someone mentioning that all 9-5's have built in turbo...?
9) I have 4 Gislevad tires on my car, which my father seems to think are the greatest tires ever...I wanted to know if someone could give me the low-down on how these tires are and how they compare to other tires? Also, do they have anything to do with Michelin (since I had a michelin brochure in my car when I purchased it)? Also, how do these tires do in the snow compared to other tires? And I think I have 16" wheels, but I can't be sure...how can I tell? And how do 16" Gislevad's compare to 15" other tires in the snow and otherwise? Thanks!
10) Can someone tell me what the major differences are between the 2000 9-5, 9-5 Se, and 9-5 Aero...so I know what I missed out on ;) ??
11) Does the rear seat heat work on all three seats in the rear, or just the left and right ones?
12) The radio seems to be great...and from what I could tell had a center channel, but does it have a subwoofer too?
13) The audio CD that I received with the car said something about fog lights only working on dim headlights...was wondering if anyone knew what this meant?
14) The audio CD also mentioned pausing the CD player, but the only way I could figure out to do this was to switch the source to the radio or tape, or turn off the stereo altogether. Am I missing something? Also, why when I turn off the CD player and then turn it back on, it starts like 5-10 seconds later than where it left off?
15) Can someone please explain to me what sports mode and winter mode are, when I should and shouldn't use them, what the risks and/or limitations of using them are, etc.? Thanks!
Sorry for so many questions, but I'm very curious about my new car. Thanks for all the help once again!!!
Sincerely,
Marc Bressman
