Maybe it's not the rating

I'm not familiar with Kumho's tires, & I know you've already said you don't know the model you've got, but it seems to me that your tread's too shallow. 5k-10k mi of tread left?
The average tire starts out with something like 10/32" of tread for 50k mi of tire life. The tops of the wear-bars are at 2/32", which leaves 8/32" for 50k mi of use, or about 3/64" for each 10k mi. Of course, tires wear faster when they're new & the rubber hasn't hardened up yet.
So let's guess that you have maybe 1/32" left before you hit the wear-bars, or 3/32" total tread depth. I think most "winter tire" recommendations say to replace your winter tires when the tread depth reaches 5/32". (Even Bridgestone says their Blizzaks should be replaced after 55% of the 11/32" of tread has been used, or at this same 5/32" remaining depth.)
If that's the case, then I don't know if ANY tire would give satisfactory performance. You might feel better about having "real" winter tires, but if that false sense of security allows you to drive beyond the tires' abilities, then you'll be worse off than driving carefully on summer tires.
FWIW, I've always had great luck on BFG Touring T/A All Season tires here in Northern Colorado. The BFG Advantage GT M+S A/S tires on our 9³ have been even better for winter driving, while Pirelli P400 M+S A/S I've currently got on my C900 are much worse.
