bRAD below makes a greatpoint that one of the main differences in winter versus summer tires is that the rubber compound is specifically matched to the temperatures that will be encountered, BUT,since your point about having very limited snow days is also valid,I suggest something like the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S( not to be confused with the standard Pilot Sport) I have them on my 2002 Aero as the three season choice for me,and have driven them in very light snow conditions. They are acceptable, but not great, in snow. Again, bRAD is probably more correct in that if you are going to hit "real" snow, you will just be kiding yourself if you think that you can get by with summer type tires. I have Gislaved winter tires on the Aero, and go anywhere, any time with them. I prefer four great winter tires rather than all wheel drive any time!
