1. There are special coffee "mugs" with narrow bottoms that'll fit the cup holder, look around in Target, Pep Boys, etc. But yes, I wish there were two of those butterfly cupholders. In a pinch, others have pulled out the center cupholder and placed it in the dash cupholder to adapt it to larger drink containers... But I think this is clunky.
2. This is a common issue with many European cars, but I have no problems using a Valentine 1 power plug, Motorola original charger, or Nokia original charger. My old Escort DSP detector came with an plastic accessory sleeve to help keep the plug in place in European cars but I never really had to use it, even in the 9000T... perhaps look for one of these attachments? Don't forget about the rear 12V plug (behind the armrest) -- I use it for the cellphone charger when the front plug is occupied. Also, I think the rear plug is a bit deeper.
3. Don't forget the front "kangaroo" pockets under your thighs, in front of the bottom cushion. Great place to keep small items.
