Here in LA the dealership locations aren't really an issue, LA being so "car-centric." Isn't it interesting tho that the oldest Saab dealer in California (Tors Saab) is in... Lompoc!? Lompoc no less, sleepy central California coastal town near Vandenburg Air Force Base... well at least the proximity to *something* aerospace is cool but you're right, location can be a key factor.
I own a new 9-5 and love the car... Saab marketing and design have dropped the ball to some extent (re: their 9-5 advertising) but everyone who has been a passenger in the Aero has commented on how nice it is. An interesting aside is when I showed the car to my Saab mechanic (who maintains my 900) his comment was: "I was talking to Sweden last week and Saab thinks they're building too GOOD a car now. Can't make enough money on parts. Man, I love those rims!"
In the end I guess Saab will do whatever it need to keep the 9-5 alive. Too little too late seems to be the trend for this model but, in the end, I don't see too many Audi or BMW drivers smiling like me!
