The news clip I read a while back mentioned the next generation Commodore so I don't think this would be the Munaro (GTO).
Yes they have AWD, developed and manufactured in Australia for that matter. They also have a surprising number of models, including something that looks like an El Camino! Also, a concept 5 door hatchback..well well.
Many models, including the Commodore, seem like rebadged Opels, which is not a bad thing really. There is serious talk about the same happening at Saturn, which would be a brilliant move IMHO. The Opel line of cars is stunning in it's diversity and originality. Apparently the new Astra is giving the new Golf a serious kick in the chins.
