I've been using Permatex anti-seize for 2 years, now on the rim, and I paint it also on the mounting plate. I read somewhere that you must NOT put it on the threads, however tempting it may be.
What I wonder is if some gets on the friction surface where the nut hits up against the wheel, do you risk loosing the nut?
I did loose a nut on the CRV last month, which is the first nut I've lost in over 30 years. Hmmmmm!
