I too had a mega-workout (5 hours!) struggling to get my winter rims off my '99 9-5 V6 wagon. Lots of pounding, wiggling and WD40 finally did it to get through the crusty corrosion. The fronts were far worse than the rears. I found the copper-based anti-sieze at our local NAPA store. I know it works well. I just got lazy and had a local tire shop put the winters on for me last November, assuming they would use a/s as they've done in the past. Bad assumption.
Lesson learned: If you aren't going to DIY, ALWAYS insist that your shop use anti-sieze, not axle grease, not WD40. Careful cleaning/brushing of all surfaces is also required before a/s'ing and re-assembling.
110,000 miles and still happy (but sore)
