Some worry about DI cassettes and keep a spare, some buy extended warranties. Then there are others like me who have a more fatalistic approach to the whole matter and don't do either. I will worry about one dying when it does and not before. I now have two Saabs (a 2000 9-5 Aero sedan and a 2003 9-3 convertible) and I see no need to have a spare DI, what do I do, buy two, one for each car? Or move it back and forth from car to car as I switch?
Remember that this is a board where problems are reported. The lever of DI failures is somewhat lower than one would think from reading here. As far as extended warranties go, somebody makes money off them and it isn't you.
Brooks.
