Fair market price (IMO) is not determined by the amount of profit the dealer is making but based on how other dealers in the area are pricing similar vehicles. Use the internet to contact a few dealers for quotes and in no time flat you will know what the market is like. Also don't be afraid to shop other markets. I drove 3 hours to pick up my Aero and for the 2 or 3 thousand I saved, it was well worth it. For any potential customer reading this, treat your salesperson like...a person because that is what they are. Treat them with respect (this means dont call another dealer on your cell phone to see if they can match the offer you were just presented while you are sitting down discussing business...yes this happens quite a bit and is TERRIBLY RUDE) and they will give you good service after the sale. I would also urge anyone car shopping to shop the internet as well. The best deals truley are found online! Rafe, this has been a nice little debate and I respect your point of view and you are right, we are not far apart after all. We both obviously have great taste in cars!
