14 months ago I bought a 2000 Viggen 5-door with 76,xxx miles. I got a good price, so I figured I could afford a repair bill when it came along. Here's what I've paid for maintenance
5 oil changes at $50 = $250
90,000 service $400
DI Cassette $340
P-Zero Nero M&S $600
The car still has the brakes it had when I bought it, and they look like they will go another 20,000 miles. One high beam stopped working, and in the course of diagnosing the problem I tapped on the headlight relay with the end of a screwdriver. Everything started working after that, so I may need a headlight relay soon ($140 from dealer). Or maybe not.
The only thing here that wouldn't happen to a Toyota was the DI cassette. In my case, the car was running fine, but it was throwing a check engine light once in a while, so I popped in the DI.
Of course, my miles are mostly highway, but I drive the heck out of this car, and to be at 107,xxx miles with no problems except the DI is, to me, outstanding reliability.
Good luck with yours, and best regards,
Dave
