50/50 is ideal for a RWD car & 60/40 is ideal for FWD cars. I will post a ? on the BB about it to get others views?
I guess I just don't understand how a car can feel poor in daily driving but great when pushed to it's limits. Usually cars are the opposite. When approaching their limits, something (usually tires) can give out w/o notice. A 87 900T I drove a month or so ago had the same suspension you have. I thought it felt great on the highway nut when pushed, it's leaning body didn't feel right to me. On my bro's 900s, we cut 1 coil off the front end which helped the car a lot.
Stock, my car handled great in daily driving & being pushed.
The problem with your 86 is the springs are way up in the air which gives it a floating feeling. Find a set of OEM 87+ SPG springs or go with about any aftermarket spring which lowers the car slightly & you will see how well the car's can handle in any kind of traffic situation.
I am not looking for comfort but the Koni shocks are suppose to be a excellent compromise. Since they are adjustable, it's pretty easy to soften the shocks up for a more comfortable ride. Or firm them up for a solo II event :o)
