6x9s in the rear armrest area?

I'm thinking about flush-mounting new 4s in the dash, tweeters in the up-swooping part of the front-door armrests and 6x9s in the side of the rear-door armrests. The hardest part is obviously in the rear. Without buying a pair of calipers to find out for myself, does anyone know or at least "think for sure" that there are 4" of space between the vertical interior wall in the rear of a 3dr and the body? Has anyone tried to take off the rear interior panels?
Thanks,
Nathan
