Original conerns are way back on teh list. Yes, I verified all fuses good and also did a fan motor straigiht to 12V to verify fan motor working. Fan did not come on with only thermoswitch jumped. The I jumped the thermoswitich (yes, correctly) and left the thermoswitch jumped also. This was the weird thing becaeu in that configuration with key to turned o nor with engine running, the fan did NOT run. BUT at onr point when tI had engine running (double cheking for air in cooling sytsem) the engine wrmed up to about 3/4 and the FAN CAME ON! repeat fan came on WITH BOTH the relay and the thermoswitch out of the circuit. THat's why I deduced loose wire somehwere that suddenly made contact. Since then I hooked the thermoswitch back up and let the carr warm up and the fan came on right when I expected it to. THink in gthat this was possibly a true miracle, i decided to drive it to work today. It never ran hot enough for fan to come on when I turned the car off. ( But now the headlights only work in the far right position instead of the far left position that goes on and off with car...a new twist. ) everyone says that the fan was supposed to have been runnign wwhen realy was jumped and key was on UNLESS the real problem was in the wire. When I began to test wire continuity the fuse to the Fuel pump relay blew (probably my fault) and I got sidetracked figuring out all that and it got late. It was after that when I had the fan come on all by itself and then I plugged thermoswitch back in to the loop. I let it idle for about fifteen minutes and when it warmed up the fan started so I pretended everything was okay. ( but of course it can't be) My only explananation is that I have a place in the wire that is shorting out and I will have to go back and test all that for continuity and then probably replace a bad wire. Or I coiuld go back to the miracle theory.
Could you follow all of that?
