Hi Jeff -
Thanks for responding :)
Like you, I need to drive the car while the work is being done. I go to Sweden every month for 2 weeks, so the work can happen in 2-week phases. My priorities are (1) mechanical soundness, so that I can continue to drive it for many years to come, without surprises; (2) cosmetic restoral, as close to perfect as can reasonably be expected; (3) stay original, as I'm less interested in hopping it up as preserving its long-term value.
Given those priorities, emptying the motor bay for a repaint is probably not number 1 on the list. A mechanically "new" powertrain/drivetrain probably is. Suspension, brakes, etc., all high on the list. Then on to cosmetics...I think.
Know of anyone (preferably not too far from where I live, near DC) who does this kind of work?
Thanks,
Mike
