i say you can try several things. the worst thing to do is to outright contest it. that cop will get in there and tell that judge he was giving you a break and your b*tthole will get stretched in a rather unpleasant manner.

Instead, ask to plead to a lesser speed and an equipment violation, if the prosecutor will go for that. IMHO, based on experience the no-contest thing will still result in points. your speed might get you more than 2 points. if you are worried about points, find out how long it takes for them to fall off on the state computer...usually 2 or 3 years. if you are getting close to having one fall off, get a continuance or two.

good luck. getting caught speeding really sucks (although others' misfortunes paid a few bills for me, though!!)
