As you may be able to tell by my recent posts, it's time to change the tranny fluid for the first time. I'm aware of the procedure, parts needed, but am a little shakey on what oil to use.
Is there any way to tell what is in there now? I'm sorta leaning to dino oil, but really have no clue.
Here are some questions/concerns...
1.I've been thinking of using the same oil in there if I can find out what it is. The shifts are smooth and solid so why switch?
2.I have considered using MTL. I don't mind paying $9/qt. if it's good stuff. Needed? Will this clean the tranny out, por say, like synthetic motor oil, then producing leaks?
3.If I use dino, is synthetic the way to go? Leaks forming?
4.What sorta weight should I get if I use dino. 10/30 5/50 10/40 0/50 30...
In the morning, there is a slight grind into second if I shift quick while taking off. I have eliminated this by acceling to 1400 in 1st, and taking 3-4 sec. to engauge into 2nd. After that it's just dandy.
I know tha this post may/will bring up alot of clatter, but I would appreciate all input. Other than analyzing the oil, what am I up to do?
Many thanks...
