Justin, I also have a 1991 S. Assuming original fluid, you have 10w30. I changed mine for first time at 145,000. I used 10w30 to flush, changing at 50, 100, 500, 1000 miles. Final oil is Redline MTL. I see no problems in staying with 10w30. I now have 161,000 and transmission is doing well; shifts even better than new. Some suggestions: buy a gasket for the rear cover (which must be removed to change the oil). Reuse the old gasket (assume no damage in removing plate) for each change. Use new gasket on last change. The gasket is the only new part you may need. The "filter" is mounted on the inside of the rear plate; clean and reuse. I used a can of spray parts cleaner.

My observations: there was quite a bit of small metal shavings in the original oil and the first change and a lot in the filter (but no big pieces). It was surprising to me how dirty the first change was at only 50 miles. (The original oil was black...) The last change at 1000 miles was pretty clean. It was actually very easy to do (jack stands or ramps are useful to make room to work under the car).
