"89" 900S, hard starting

Hello, I am new to this BB but not to SAABs,and I have a problem with the way my 89-900S starts. When warm, after sitting for several minutes, the car takes a full five-Mississippi count of cranking for it to fire up. Once started it runs flawlessly (especially with the new motor). Within the past three months the car has had a full tune up (Bosch, NGK, and Bougicord parts), fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, mass air flow sensor. Also, this week I just finished rebuilding the 5-speed tranny myself, and replaced the slightly tired motor with a low milage unit. All the tune up, and other new parts, were carried over to the new/used motor, which runs great, but still starts hard.
It's almost like the fuel is draining away after it is shut off and then has to pump back when trying to start.
I have always done my own servicing from motor rebuilds through body work and paint, but this is frusrtrating me (anal engineer you know). My other two SAABs have higher milage but do not have this problem.
Have at it gurus!
Thanks, Al.
