The replacement pumps do not have the integral check valves that the originals came with. When you replaced the pump, did you install a white elbow check valve to replace the "straight through" elbow connector in the feed line? As noted on other posts, it's a PITA to install and requires forcing the elbow into the fuel line 1/4" at a time using a "special tool." You can use the tubing holder that comes with a tube flaring kit as a make-shift special tool to hold the line while you force the nipple into the line with a channel lock pliers.
