is that it can get into small unseen areas (i.e. engine compt. connectors) and cause corrosion. this can occur even if you don't use a high pressure wash. a bad example is the dealers. take a look at a car that was purchased from the dealer, chances are, there is corrosion in the connectors. it is very easy for them to pressure wash the engine before selling a used car, it just makes it "look" that much better. i am a big supporter of simple green, but in moderation. after rebuilding and installing a new engine recently, i am reluctant to do anything that has a chance of causing damage. i have actually gone the direction of "motor purr" brake cleaner. its what the local shop uses, and what's best, it evaporates without leaving a residue. they use it to clean all of their parts. works really well. but that's just my 2 cents.
