Decision Time... the aging OG900 Dilema (long)

I am soliciting opinions from fellow C900 lovers on what to do here. My non-saab friends keep telling me to get a new honda like everyone else in the world, but I am sure the readers of this board will understand...
I currently own an 88 900 Base model (8v NA) with 180k miles on it. It is my first saab, but I love it and would not even consider owning anything but a classic 900 at this point. Unfortunately, the old girl is getting a bit tired. Issues at this point include: leaking steering rack, looser-than-normal handling (ball joints???), bad allignment, needs new tires, AC has a leak somewhere and won't hold freon, odometer stopped working a month ago, the heater fan makes weird ticking noise, and it runs a bit warmer than it used to (radiator flush or replace is needed). On the plus side, engine and trans are solid, the car is very reliable, and cosmetically it is great inside and out.
I am a competent mechanic that could fix all these problems. The thing is I really want a Turbo (or better yet, SPG!!!) with all the power, features, and leather interior. It seems silly for me to drop my time/money into my old 900 base model only to replace it with a turbo model which may need the same things done to it in a few months. Still, I don't want my trusty 900 to die from lack of maintenance. So what to do??? I definitely am buying a 1990+ turbo model in the next few weeks, but what about my current Saab? Sell as is? Or fix it up? It is really a beautiful car that deserves to be maintained, but I have my heart set on the turbo, only have room for 1 car. Any opinions are appreciated. Thanks!
