I suspected that, for the reasons you mention, but not knowing the specifics of the radiator, I figured *maybe* it was possible to detect a difference in the two. I feel better now that someone else said it though :-)
So if the hoses on both sides are hot, the coolant is making it through the radiator. But if part of the radiator isn't hot, hot coolant isn't going through that part of the radiator.
Anybody have a clue as to radiator geometry? Taken one apart?
