Try this test. Run your car till it's warmed up. Let it sit for 20 minutes. Then loosen the fuel bolt on the front of the pipe that connects to all the injectors[17 mm wrench to loosen the nut and a 19mm to hold the rail]. You should get a small quantity of fuel spraying out[about a tablespoon-carefull]. If not you have a bad check valve at the fuel pump.
What happens is that the fuel pressure is dropping in the system when you shut it off and the fuel is vaporizing in the injectors which in turn pushes the fuel back out of the lines which makes it hard to start[all that vapor has to be expelled through the injectors in small bits]. Plain old Vapor lock.
This is a rough version of the test. If you take it to your mechanic they can use a pressure gauge and get a definitive reading. This is called a residual fuel pressure test. Connect fuel pressure gauge run engine, record pressure,shut off for 10 minutes, fuel pressure should drop 1.5 to 3 psi-no more. If it drops more it is a problem in the check valve or the fuel accumulator[almost always the check valve]
Check valve is located on top of the fuel pump.
