better performance from a full tank of gas?

Maybe its just me psyching myself out, but I'll swear my 1990 SPG has more zip behind the accelerator when its full of gas. The car seems to come alive when I go from nearly empty to a full tank. I'm wondering if this might be because of the added pressure of more fuel "helping" the fuel pump suck up a little more gas than usual, or maybe something weird is happening with the FPR...any ideas? Am I crazy?
Thanks
Bry M.
