my suggestion is to drop it or find a different mechanic or learn to do it yourself. those prices are high...hi way robbery more like it. a rebuilt lifetime rack is 150$. 1 hour labor and alignment. 250$ or so, 300 max. pads and rotors 150 bucks both sides max, rebuilt calipers are less than 100$ and are only held on by 2 bolts. etc etc etc....the guy is taking you for a ride. on cars like these you have to be willing to do it yourself or spend a lot. however, after you get them right they last very well and it IS an spg. I suggest you recalibrate your expectations and buy a manual or at the least post your location and get pointed to a better shop. high prices do not a good shop make.
