dangerous rust problem, need advice.

My '90 900TC was making some noise from the suspension somewhere so I bring it in and they tell me that there is a huge hole rusted in the body where the whole A arm and stuff is connected and that eventually as the rust worsens it will come off completely leaving me dead in a ditch somewhere.
The dealer who found the problem said they had never seen that before, has anyone here had that happen? If so, what did you do about it? I am really fried about this, but I am going to try and find a welder that can fix it. Although I have been told most will not touch something like this because of the potential liability involved.
The car is just not ready to die, so I will not part it out. But on the other hand, I will not wait till I loose control of the car going 75mph either. I really need some advice. What can I do!
Having a nervous breakdown,
Tyler
