You don't know much about cars if you think all the parts are made by your car manufacturer. Take my 1973 Saab Sonett III - quintessential Saab. You DO know what a Sonett is, right? It's got a great V4 engine in it. Is it a Saab engine? Nope. Saab contracted with Ford to make the Sonett III engine. Does it make the car less Saab? No. There are a lot of cooperative efforts in Saab going back to very early Saabs. It's what makes Saabs great, not the other way around. Intelligent cooperative use of technology. Take technology. Companies with a NIH (Not Invented Here) attitude command a smaller marketshare (with the exception of monopolies).
