with the old saabs. When you get in to start it up the car will be in reverse for reasons mentioned above. They don't have a safty mechanism that doesn't allow you start the car if the clutch is not in like in newer cars. Thus, if you don't put the clutch in the car will lurch backwards as you start it. just a reminder...
