Andre,
I've had a '82 Rabbit & '86 Jetta & the linkage is way different. Saabs don't have any of those little ball-levers underneath the car.
Saab has a shifter "box" in the console at the base of the shift lever. There's a shift rod extending forward from that, above the floorpan & underneath the carpet. It goes thru a rubber boot in the firewall & into the transmission. There is a rubber bushing with a nylon sleeve where that rod exits the box, just forward of the shift lever. This bushing has a habit of tearing or coming out, which leaves the shifter very sloppy side-to-side. There is also a coupling in this shaft between the firewall & the transmission.
I'd tell you to get a Bentley manual, but since its not your car... Well, check out FAQ's & the search feature of this board to look for shifter bushings or for removing the console. Otherwise, we can help you or talk you through it. Does the car have a forward console? Or only the center console with carpeting forward of the shifter? What model-year?
