I have a 1985 900 Turbo with 200K+ miles on it. I was experiencing power loss when the turbo boost kicked in. It felt as if the motor briefly cuts out when the boost is needed. I was not concerned about it as the car drove fine, just no boost. I mainly use the car for driving around town.
Recently I took the car on the highway for a longer trip, and the motor just cut out (felt like it was out of gas). Stopped the car, after a few minutes the car started, and appeared to run fine with no load (flat road), but as soon as I got to any hills, there was no power, had to rev high and work the clutch to make it up any small hills, and was impossible to drive up any large hills. Felt similar to the original turbo problem, but always occurs.
Please let me know if you would like any additional detail or clarification. Would like to know where to start to look (fuel, electrical, air)??? I am pretty much writing the car off, but wouldn't mind experimenting on it.
Thanks in advance.
