I'm thinking I'll go with a stock clutch, why waste the money, right?
Someone mentioned the "5 piece kit" - I'm assuming that includes clutch disk, pressure plate, release bearing, slave cylinder, and what else? The line to the master cylinder?
I was gonna ask about the rear main seal, since that is a common thing to replace when doing clutches on VW engines. I'll do a search and see if I can find those instructions, thanks for the tip.
I'll go look at everything after work today. I bought a battery for the car, so I can actually run the engine now! yippee! Hopefully, if it is just the hydraulic line, I'll be able to see that right off the bat and save myself the hassle of replacing a good clutch. I *had* been thinking it was hydraulics when he told me about the car on the phone, but when you push the pedal down, it does feel like the hydraulics are there. I've diagnosed bad hydraulics and bad clutches on g60 Corrados before, but never in a Saab, so I might be completely off on this, though.
Has anyone ever ordered Saab stuff from http://www.germanautoparts.com? It is a business called Adirondack Auto Brokers. I've spent heaps of cash there buying OEM parts for my VW, and their website says they stock Saab stuff. My main reason for considering them is this - they are about 150 miles from where I live, and if I pay regular UPS ground rates, the stuff they ship arrives on my door at about 9 am the next morning!
Thanks again everyone!
