Getting the feeling that we don't like quicklubes?

I have to agree with everyone else. I've had too many bad experiences with 'em to ever trust 'em again. Around here (Denver area), Saabs are as thick as flies, so the quicklubes are probably better than most. Still, I've experienced overfilling on my '90 & have heard of over-tightened drain bolts leading to cracked oil pans (the pans are aluminum, so it's critical that the drain plug gets tightened to between 22-29 ft-lbs; I keep mine in the middle at 25 ft-lbs, & that's not very much on that bolt).
But, I can understand if you don't have a place to change your oil & get put off by all of our warnings. Is there another garage you feel comfortable taking it to just for an oil change? Or maybe making an oil-only appointment with your mechanic, explaining that you really can't leave it & need to wait for the car? He might be willing to accommodate you "just this once." Heck, he might even recommend a place he trusts to do Saabs while-you-wait. If not, it's really more of a local-knowledge kinda thing. My JiffyLube might be great, while yours isn't. You'll have to ask locally.
Of course, the best way is to do it yourself...
