Keep the coverage, it's cheap.
A friend's daughter got hit by a joker who ran a stop sign and her car was totalled. Because she didn't have collision and comp on that car, she has to accept whatever the other party's insurance is going to pay for the car or go to court and wait months for any settlement (not to mention paying lawyer's fees.)
Two weeks after she got a brand new car, another joker (uninsured - what else is new in Florida) rear-ended her new car to the tune of over $8,000. This time, she has complete coverage. Her claim is being paid immediately and the insurance company is doing the legal wrangling with the other party.
Keep it.
