battery relocation problems

I decided to relocate my battery, so I went w/ two 12v 12ah (280X2 CCA's)sealed batteries mounted under the back seat connected in parrallel w/ 2 gauge wires, grounded on a seat belt bolt and connected directly to the starter. I grounded the engine block using a 14" 4awg ground strap. I left the 8awg wire connecting the alternator to the starter and fed an 8awg wire from the alt to the main power distribution block. I mainly used tinned copper connectors for the single lines but used all aluminum connector blocks for doubled lines (1 on one of the batteries neg, 1 on the other battery's pos, and one on the starter that connects a remote terminal).
Initially car started strong, no problems, but from 3-4 days of using interior light while working in a sub basement of a garage the batteries drained. I had the car jumped and drove it around for an hour or two, car would restart bug started sluggishly. I parked the car, turned on alarm, and then came down today to restart and the car wouldn't even turnover.
Any Idea's? I'm not feeling confident about the aluminum block connectors. I'm thinking they might be creating too much resistance.
Bugger. Now I gotta go check voltages everywhere, I wanted to install the di/apc system. err. never nerving ending.
