Inspection was just done 10/02 and it passed-that was the 2nd owner.
then- The 3rd owner inspected it again on 10/25 -
here is the latest service repair order:
-oil and filter change 30.00
-motor oil treatment 6.00
-NY state inspection 35.00
-complete check of vehicle 75.00

then on the left of the service order it says:
1-repair oil leak at base of motor
2-replace front engine seal

enter 4th owner - me.
So I dont have any clue as to the emmissions failure, but P/O said 'they had to do something to make it pass, but now its fine' Maybe it was the front engine seal causing problems with emissions, or that mysterious 'leak at base of motor'?

Does anyone know the emmisions parameters for Virginia? Any different than in NY?

Over the holidays I will drive the car to Virginia where it will be registered (much cheaper at my moms) and it will have to go through inspection down there. So I'll let you guys know results.

Now the turbo thing... I don't notice any blue smoke, and I let it idle for like 30 minutes the first day. I do notice a little white smoke at pre-warmup.

Any thoughts on the parts markup question? I.E. how much is a reasonable price mark-up for a saab garage to charge?

I am ordering the bently very soon - car came with owners manual and the haynes manual.

lot of stuff here, TIA
horacio
