I switched to M1 at 210K. I had to replace the rear main seal, the valve cover gasket seal, and now it's as dry as an old bone.
I switched mainly because I was getting alot of valve noise on start up and I wanted better protection for the turbo. I'm not as diligent as I once was about the idling before shut down.
I switched to 5K change intervals from 3k. I change the filter as 2500 miles as well.
I don't know if it's going to make my 90 900 turbo last longer, but I think it will help the turbo last longer. My goal is to get 300k out of this car. It runs better today than when I got it 7 yrs ago with 75K.
It also has the original 5 speed. I use Redline MTL from the time I bought it. Change every 25-30K.
Good Luck
