if nylock nuts, pre-install then remove to form threads in nylon.
once shock is in, get nut started on, then allow full droop to load the shock, and resist rotation. worked for me.
if stubborn, cut old shock off at the reduced shaft dia at bushings, or bust it like old posts say.
