Guys,
I tried your 8-9 pump test on my brakes, with car running but stopped.
I could NEVER get the ABS light or the low fluid light. I believe your advice said if it occured in less than 8 pumps that the accumulator was shot. Well, I never get the light while testing, but I sure did get a flicker during my panic stop, and then later (20 minutes) both lights came on and stayed on until I shut off the car for 1 hour, came back and lights out!
I looked in Bentley under ABS section, and it said if you ever get both lights, you have a major brake system fault & do not drive the car! Well I drove it to work today anyway.
Please advise if anyone has any expertise on this ABS system!
Also FWIW, BurlyB stated he had a similar death defying swerve when in his car when he had a bad front shock. Bentley also mentions "suspension problem" as root cause for uneven braking.
