Re: 92 900 16V 5 speed
I switched to Honda MTF a few hundred miles ago. First I drained the old oil (who knows how old, recently acquired car with 170k miles)refilled with 30W oil, ran it for about 150 miles, drained, and refilled with Honda MTF.
Now here's the interesting thing: I had a grind going into 2nd until things were really warmed up. Even though the Honda MTF made shifting much smoother, that grind was still there. Now I have a few hundred miles on the Honda MTF (this is my weekend "play" car, not my daily driver (94 900SE V6)), the grind is GONE! Even when cold, there is no longer any grind going into 2nd! And the shifting keeps getting smoother and smoother!
As good as this Honda MTF is, I don't know why anyone would try anything else! Just my .02 worth guys...happy Saabing!
