A 'pressing' steering rack question

Ok, after reading around the forums and various articles...well, now I am not sure if my issue is the steering rack. Here's what is happening, I hope some can help shed light on the problem.
My steering goes from loose to tight, but only when I turn right. Anything left...smooth. When I go right - tight/loose/tight/loose/. I was told it was the steering rack, but as I said - after reading around...I am not sure. There is nothing leaking from that area, and the whole steering issue is off/on (i.e. turning right). The steering pump is a-ok, fluid is good. So, I am wondering if it might be the U-Joint that I've heard others 'talk' about. This is my first SAAB, so learing about it as a go along. I'd appreciate any insight, and if you have questions - please do not hesitate to ask (You can reach me here: mark-occ@overclockedcafe.com)
