playing with rice-rockets

I was headed home today in my 900T after a day of shoppping. I got onto heavy expressway traffic in the right lane moving only about 35mph. When I threw on my signal to make a pass, I saw this little honda Civic behind me. It was decked out with the shopping-cart handle style wing, vacuum-cleaner air dam, and all the fast & furious add-on's the auto-parts shop could sell hammered the gas. I could hear his little coffee-can tailpipe let out a a nasty fart as the kid downshifted and hammered the throttle. I downshifted myself, the turbo gauge hit the yellow zone, and I was off...well in front of rice-boy. However, I although I was going faster, I still was going a bit slow. Rice boy hung to my rear bumper like I was towing him.
I downshifted to slow down to this next batch of slow moving traffic, and to keep the engine wound up, and rice-boy just got even closer. Just then, the traffic cleared in front of me broke up, and I hammered the gas. With what felt like less than a second, I was up to the posted 65mph speed limit. I looked into the rear-view mirror, and rice boy was struggling to catch up. I edged my speed up a few more mph. Rice boy eventually caught up with me, but stayed well off my back end for several miles. I moved to the right lane and slowed down a bit to make my exit. Rice boy went slowly on by, but with none of the fanfare from his rear fart-pipe, he was even too embarassed to look at my car as he passed.
Just goes to show that you don't go to a gun battle with a knife. I didn't exceed any limits or break any laws...but definitely got the point across that my 900T was in a class well above his little toy!
