Clutch, shifter, or synchro...

Sounds like clutch to me but does the clutch pedal feel the same when the car is stuck? Does the clutch engage near the top of the pedal travel, or near the bottom, or does it vary? If the clutch is the problem, its probably related to the clutch hydraulics.
When you say you can't get it into gear, does the shifter move but grind or get stuck when trying to push into gears? Or is the shifter stuck completely? When you pulled the shifter out of reverse, was the ignition key in the on position? The reverse lockout on the shifter might be broken and causing some interference.
After finding that the clutch and shifter are good, then you might look at the transmission, specifically the synchronizers.
