to simply change out the switch.
The turn signal and w/s wiper switch are mounted in a bracket that drops with the removal of two machine screws. Then you can remove the turn signal switch from the bracket. The connector to the turn signal switch is easily removed with the switch out.
If you want to go further back along the wiring harness to where the harness connects to the cc electronic brain and/or the relay (may be necessary if you're putting in a post 89 or service pack turn signal switch because the later/service pack switches eliminated the cruise control relay. If you fail to rewire the system with the new turn signal/cruise control switch to eliminate the relay, the first time you hit the cruise control the cruise control will continue to accelerate rather than holding a set speed. Ask me how I know this.....:>(
