How exactly did you jumper the fuel pump relay? What pins? Since you can keep the car running by pumping the accelerator, it doesn't sound like the flaky ECU pin #20 business.
The fuel pump runs for 2 seconds when you first turn it on. It quits if the ECU doesn't see a tach signal at pin 1. Does anyone know whether this first 2 seconds is controlled by the ECU vs. the relay? If it's controlled by the ECU, then it looks like your ECU IS able to run the fuel pump.
Does your tachometer do anything flaky when this is happening?
Ary you getting any error codes (check-engine light)? Check the link below & look all the way down at the bottom of that page for a way to exercise the fuel pump relay & the injectors. Try it...
