upgrading or buying parts before they are difficult to get. I owned an 83 900T for 15 years and it was no cheap ride, all the way to 226k miles (US car). I just bought an 87 SPG with 300kms on it and its much faster but is not immune to wear either!
I hate to be a pessimist but just becuase your 8v has been more economical dont think you are not going to have to put money into it in the future, like HG and head machine work, motor mounts, or a new head, etc. I see very few 8v parts for sale ...many more 16v parts are available on ebay, etc.
So move the 91 and have the $ ready...
